Carter collapsed on her bed, tired, exhausted, yet exhilarated. Sword fighting practice always brightened her mood. Bright shafts of the afternoon light leaked through the closed curtains. She liked her privacy, all alone in one cabin, but then again, it could get immensly bored in there without anyone else to talk to. She remembered the packed Hermes cabin, crowded and filled with noise at all times. She'd loved it, but she could have done without the constant eavesdropping. Now, the once packed cabin seemed alot larger, because of all the claiming going on, it was great. Carter sighed, she was getting bored now. The excitement of the sword fighting practice was wearing off. There wasn't much to do, archery practice didn't start for another hour. She cringed mentally at the thought, archery wasn't one of her best skills. Especially after she dented an Ares camper's helmet. While he was wearing it. That had required alot of running afterwards. Lying down on the familiar bed, she let her mind wander, she wondered what her mother was doing. She hadn't visited home since Christmas, the one two years ago. But this was her home now, she reminded herself again and again whenever her thoughts strayed too far from the idea. That happened alot. After thinking about her schedule for while, eventually she got restless. She needed someone to save her from this boredom. She didn't want to go back out and hack at the straw dummies again, as fun as it was the first time. She pulled out her dagger, turning it around in her hand, watching the light reflect off the long blade. It was named 'Shocker' for a reason. The dagger brought back memories, running with the satyr across Canada to get to camp, the monsters that they had encountered on their journey. And now, it was comforting to know that she was safe, well, the safest you could be as a daughter of Zeus. She practically screamed 'eat me' in the outside world, monsters came from around the world like moths to a single flame. In this case, she was the flame. The unlucky light the nasty creatures came to and attempted to kill. That was why she was here though, but she longed for the 'real' world. For home, she even wanted rain sometimes. It almost always rained in the city of Vancouver. Her former home. Her childhood home. Sometimes, she wished she'd never crossed that alley that day, then she would have never met the Cyclopes. But she knew that sooner or later she would have had to confront a monster, whether it was then or later. There was always the large possibility she would die. Moving away from the depressing thoughts, she heard foot steps coming towards her cabin. Finally some company.
